Steve is the man to talk to about Alz. AND Dementia in general. I met Steve through my message boards when he kept riding to the rescue of so many. I finally wrote him a letter to tell him thank you for all of his help, and the rest, shall we say, is history. Steve also helps me out with my own mail so this is one exceptional angel.... Steve is also the guy to write to if you've recently suffered a loss. You see, he just lost his own dad Dominic, a few months ago.
Randi, (Creeper), just happens to be one of my bestfriends, and I've finally talked her into becoming an 'angel'. Now believe me, trying to turn this one into a person with wings, has taken a LOT of hard work, but trust me, it was worth it. Randi has a heart of gold...her compassion, her humor, and her knowledge of Alz. makes her one in a million. There really is nothing you can't talk about with her. She listens if you're upset, offers a gentle hand to calm a weary soul and is a friend who's there when ever there's a problem.
Steven has a wonderful sense of humor and a great deal of experience under his belt. He and his wife were home caregivers for his wifes mother until she recently passed away. And yes, Steven is the one who writes the outstanding poetry and stories you see in the websites.

I know his insights and knowledge will be a great benefit to many because he's another angel who understands what you're going through.

This "Miss Wings" is Gery, and she happens to live in the Netherlands. Though her mom has passed away now, she was a victim of Alzheimer's and Gery also has a hubby who was diagnosed at the age of 60 with Frontal Lobe Dementia. This angel grew up with a grandfather who had AD and Korsakoff's (formally known as hardening of the arteries) and she now works in a nursing home with lots of individuals who suffer from some form of dementia. Bev has encountered numerous problems with her moms symptoms, so she's quite experienced in helping others cope with situations that arise in the home. If you too are a home caregiver and are in need so some good suggestions, this is one lady to talk to.
Carol is a new caregiver who is currently taking care of her mom Evelyn at home. But what makes Carol so special is the fact that as she learns, she's willing to reach out and help others along the way. As she says..."If you think someone out there would benefit by just talking about it, I would really like to help". So, if you're a new caregiver looking to connect with someone just like you, drop Carol a note ok?
Laura is another daughter with a lot of background in Alzheimer's Disease. Her mother, Susie, a victim of "AD", recently passed away and now her father has been diagnosed with a developing dementia.
