Steve is the man to talk to about Alz. AND Dementia in general. I met Steve through my message boards when he kept riding to the rescue of so many. I finally wrote him a letter to tell him thank you for all of his help, and the rest, shall we say, is history. Steve also helps me out with my own mail so this is one exceptional angel.... Steve is also the guy to write to if you've recently suffered a loss. You see, he just lost his own dad Dominic, a few months ago.
Randi, (Creeper), just happens to be one of my bestfriends, and I've finally talked her into becoming an 'angel'. Now believe me, trying to turn this one into a person with wings, has taken a LOT of hard work, but trust me, it was worth it. Randi has a heart of gold...her compassion, her humor, and her knowledge of Alz. makes her one in a million. There really is nothing you can't talk about with her. She listens if you're upset, offers a gentle hand to calm a weary soul and is a friend who's there when ever there's a problem.
Steven has a wonderful sense of humor and a great deal of experience under his belt. He and his wife were home caregivers for his wifes mother until she recently passed away. And yes, Steven is the one who writes the outstanding poetry and stories you see in the websites.
John's mom was diagnosed back in 1997, and recently passed away. As John writes...I have learned so much from it. Now its time for me to give something back and bring any help to others who are fighting this disease. For myself, after reading Johns beautiful letter, I can tell you honestly this is one man who has such compassion! I know his insights and knowledge will be a great benefit to many because he's another angel who understands what you're going through.
Kathy is one lady who has an amazing amount of experience to offer. Not only did she care for her Mother-In-Law who passed away from AD, but for the past 9 years she's been a support group leader in Long Island, NY. See what I mean? Anyhow, if you need someone to talk to, someone who will understand, Kathy is one great place to start. By the way, if you're looking for help in the Long Island area, I encourage you to contact her, because this is an angel at her finest!
Brenda's mom Frances, passed away a few months ago, and since then, Brenda has been wanting to help others. Some of you may have enjoyed her writings since Brenda is one of the fine poets I have in my gallery...

Here is another wonderful angel named Shirley. This amazing lady lost her mom not to long ago so she's now turning her attentions to others who are walking the path she has been down. Shirley is warm, loving, humourous and one great friend. I mean this when I say, if you need a heart who will empathize, this is one of the best!
This "Miss Wings" is Gery, and she happens to live in the Netherlands. Though her mom has passed away now, she was a victim of Alzheimer's and Gery also has a hubby who was diagnosed at the age of 60 with Frontal Lobe Dementia. In her spare time (grin) Gery works as a professional stress counselor, she's also a mom and a soon to be 'granny'. This angel is very anxious to try her wings, so give her a holler if you need a hand...ok?
Lisa is another angel with honest to goodness wings. Lisa's background lies in Nursing & Social Service work in nursing homes, so if anyone has any questions dealing with family meetings, proper care, or just an ear that will listen and understand, she is a great one to talk to!
Nancy is a wonderful nurse who has spent the majority of her profession caring for people who suffer from Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. This is one outstanding angel who can offer you wisdom, information and a person to talk to when you don't know where to turn.
Karen is a Social Worker who lives in England and cares for her 88 year old Auntie who has Alzheimer's. Since I know many of you visit from a country other than the US, if you happen to live in Great Britian, then this is the angel for you!
This angel grew up with a grandfather who had AD and Korsakoff's (formally known as hardening of the arteries) and she now works in a nursing home with lots of individuals who suffer from some form of dementia. Not only that, but Jonda also holds a Masters in Counseling but she's a licensed social worker too. As you can see, this is one diversified angel who can help with many different problems!
This warm, wonderful lady knows what it's like to be on both sides of the fence. Not only has she got a lot of experience in caregiving, but she also knows what it's like to be challenged by an illness herself. I can tell you, Brenda is one angel that can teach you all about facing adversities and coming out the winner!
Bev is a daughter who is home caregiving for her mother Sara Elizabeth. Bev has encountered numerous problems with her moms symptoms, so she's quite experienced in helping others cope with situations that arise in the home. If you too are a home caregiver and are in need so some good suggestions, this is one lady to talk to.
Carol is a new caregiver who is currently taking care of her mom Evelyn at home. But what makes Carol so special is the fact that as she learns, she's willing to reach out and help others along the way. As she says..."If you think someone out there would benefit by just talking about it, I would really like to help". So, if you're a new caregiver looking to connect with someone just like you, drop Carol a note ok?
Would you like to become an email angel? If so, drop me a note and let me know. Just tell me who you are and the type of people you'd like to help.
