Awake and up I face a brand new day
I pour the milk upon my breakfast bowl
I wash my dish and put it safe away
This aching hip may finally take its toll

I pour the milk upon my breakfast bowl
Did I wake up too late it seems like night
This aching hip may finally take its toll
Perhaps itís time for bed; Iíll say goodnight.

Did I wake up too late it seems like night
Weíve lots to do today so let us go
Perhaps itís time for bed; Iíll say goodnight
I fought in World War II friend did you know?

Weíve lots to do today so let us go
I brush my teeth and take my morning pills
I fought in World War II friend did you know?
Iíll sit here now and pay my monthly bills

I brush my teeth and take my morning pills
I should eat breakfast now but Iím so full
Iíll sit here now and pay my monthly bills
The plane shot holes into our precious hull

I should eat breakfast now but Iím so full
Iím headed back to Texas here real soon
The plane shot holes into our precious hull
You know there was an eclipse of the moon

Iím headed back to Texas here real soon
I need new shoes to heal my aching feet
You know there was an eclipse of the moon
Itís six oíclock now, time for us to eat

I wash my dish and put it safe away
Awake and up I face a brand new day
