Comments: I found your page in someone else's guestbook and I'm glad I did. I was the caretaker for my ailing and declining mother for several years until we had to place her in a nursing home 2 years ago. She is still there now, not with Alzheimers but with several problems...along with the wife of our neighbor directly across our street, who has Alzhiemers. I hope you can drop by my homepages sometime. I have 2 of them, and one is up for "Site of the Week" if you like it, and would care to cast your vote in my favor when you visit, I sure would be honored. I particularly like the lovely photos of your mom with her flowers. My mom taught me gardening as a child and flower gardens are still a special hobby of mine. Comments: I just read your mother's story and cried. We lost our mother to Alzheimer's June 1,1994. Mom was almost 82 when she died. So much of your story was like ours. Very sad and heartbreaking.Thank you for sharing your story it somehow eases the pain. My brother and I cared for our mother for a year and a half before putting her in nursing home. The kids is our neighborhood are required to do a certain amount of hours of community service before they can graduate high school. Comments: Surfing for information on Alzheimer's to present to a group of people working on a project through the Marion Burch Day Care Center in Battle Creek. The project is called LITE...Look into their eyes. Your tribute to your mother just blew me away...I lost my mother in '94. She didnn't have Alzheimer's Disease, but my father had Pick's Disease and he passed away in the same year. I was unable to figure out how to incorporate the music, but I'm sure some of my young nephews and neices will bail me out. Fortunately I am familiar with the music so I heard it in my head.
