Comments: Brenda, your web site is wonderful! Tomorrow I'll look at it more. There's so much there. Your mom would be proud of how you're helping educate people with your journal. I just talked with you a little while ago in the chat room. I'm trying to be very careful with my name & address. My brother and our mother have a very special and wonderful relationship - and he can't or won't see how she is digressing. He is battling prostate cancer - was diagnosed about 3 years ago in his late 40s. He is a computer science/math teacher at a college in the town he lives in. He spends lots of time on the *net* and I don't want him to accidently find out I'm doing some checking out on dementia. I may be foolish to care that he finds out - if he weren't fighting prostate cancer, I wouldn't care. He's got enough on his plate right now. Thanks for all you're doing. Linda Bridges

Comments: Your Web Site is an inspiration! I am a carer for people with Senile Dementia and Altzeimers. Unless you are close to those who suffer from these ilnesses no one really understands what it's like to have to deal with them. I agree with you that there is not enough research being done to deal with this. Until I started caring for people I had no idea that there were so many sufferers. I am sure that you did all you could to help and support your mother during her difficult years and you should not blame yourself. None of it is your fault or doing. You were not in a position to control her illness and I am sure she valued your support in her own way even if she couldn't show it. I wish you well for the future and I will visit your site again. GOOD LUCK

Comments: My cousin Jim sent me your website. My mother also suffers from a dementia althought they do not call it Alzheimers. I moved her to be near me about 5 years ago in the hopes she would improve but of course she did not. We did not ever have the chance again for Saturday lunches out or going to the movies. I miss that most of all. I miss the times and things we could not do. But she does smile and wherever she is in her mind she is happy and at peace. I will retuen thank you

Comments: Brenda, I bookmarked your site several month ago and just clicked on to see what's new. I read your "letter" to your Mom, one year later. All I can say as someone whose Mom has Alzheimers your Mom would be very proud of the way you have shared your pain and your memories. To bare part of your soul to total strangers is both brave and very loving. People like you make the world a better place. I'm glad your husband Richard encourages you to keep ths web a lasting tribute to your Mother's love and courage. Thanks again.

Comments: I do not have the words to express my feelings right now, they are too emotional, after spending the past two evenings at your site. My Mom had a stroke just before Christmas and we are dealing with the early stages, the anger, the "guilt", etc. What I want to say most is "THANK YOU!" You did a beautiful job. I wish I could reach out and hug you. Your page meant more than you will ever know. I am going to make sure my sister reads your journal. I know it will be very meaningful to her, just as it has been for me. Again - - my Deepest Thanks! -- Lois Flack --

Comments: You have done a great job and service with your website! My grandparents both suffer from this desease....both in different stages of it. I watch my mother and aunt battle with care and home nurses and all sorts of stuff on a regular basis. If I could only get my mother to view some of this stuff....but she never has the time. She's too busy with my grandparents to make much time for herself! I appreciate your research and stories. Feel free to stop by my place (it's a fun site :~)) and sign the guestbook. Keep up the great work, and I'm sorry about your mom!

Comments: I think your web site is great. I have a hard time dealing with this, I had just lost my mother 3 years ago from cancer and know I found out that my dad is suffering from Alzheimer's. It is really hard to accept that some day I will be without my parents. I am only 33, my mom was 55 and my dad is 60. He has had this for 5 years already. I hope that this gets easier but I know it won't. Things have happened way to fast for me.
