My Visit

by
Simeon Allen

I had a dream a short time ago,
whether on this earth or in heaven I do not know,
I listened and heard a voice say,
"Come on up higher this is your day."
I walked through the gates of snow white pearl,
there's none like it in this whole wide world.
I walked down the street of transparent gold,
it was more beautiful than I had ever been told.
I saw the tree of life with all kinds of frut to eat,
I tasted and noticed I had no pain from my head to my feet.
Then I saw this mansion sitting on a hill,
and oh, how my heart was so thrilled.
When out walked my Dad and my Mother,
along with all my sisters and my brother.
What a reunion we all had,
not a single one of us was sad.
Then I walked on down the street of gold and I saw Peter, James and John,
and oh, they were having so much fun,
singing the praises of Jesus the King,
how they were making the hallelujahs to ring.
As I walked down that street all alone,
I saw the light of that heavenly throne.
I heard angels singing hosanna to the King,
and oh, how they were making the heavens to ring.
I saw God the Father and His wonderful Son,
then I knew all my blessings had just begun.
When Christ reached out His arms to me in abundant love,
I saw scars in His hands and scars on His face,
cause by His love of all mankind of every race.
Then He said "Come let me show you what I've prepared,
because my word with others you have shared."
As we walked through my mansion of splendor,
I was so glad to Him my life I did surrender.
Then all of the sudden before I awoke,
these words to me He softly spoke,
"Go tell my children I will soon return,
to give them the reward they did faithfully earn."
