As December gives way
to January's snow,
and the New Year arrives,
may we not lose the glow
of giving, and caring,
and lending a hand,
and sharing common bonds
with fellow man.

Though we may have some things in common that we wouldn't choose, like the Alzheimer's that our family member has or that someone we love is no longer with us, we must not forget that we're not alone, and that we're here for each other.
