I only met you once
but now your not the man I didn't Know
you raised a family
a loving father
but now your not the man I didn't know
you joined the army
and fought in the war
but now your not the man I didn't know
You loved fishing
but always let them go
but now your not the man I didn't know
you coached litle league
and taught your sons to throw
but now your not the man I didn't know
you've come to live with us
and still I've only met you once
Because now your not the man I didn't know

Mike posted this on my message board in December
1999 just after he wrote it. I think we all can
relate to this caregiver's emotions. Thank you,
Mike, for sharing your poem.
