"Friends" Dorothy is a wonderful poet, the founder of PASSAGE, a Christian support group for late-stage caregivers, after caregiving (and even has some early-onset Alzheimer's patients as members as well), and a wonderful friend! Dorothy's poetry is all over the Web: Her Reflections at Alzheimer's Outreach, at A Window on My Mind and here in the Alzheimer's Poetry. Nancy Walker is a nurse who has taken on Alzheimer's Disease as her cause, and she is a champion for Alzheimer's patients and caregivers. at her Caregiver's Haven. Her personal site, The Garden is also a wonderful site, full of inspiration to help caregivers cope. Nancy also shares the Message Board with me at this site. Kate is another nurse who altogether has spent fifteen years as caregiver for her mother and father. Kate's Place place is a wonderful one, full of information, support, and inspiration.
Carolyn Haynali's shares the comfort her faith gives her at her site, "SHEKINAH GLORY" God's Presence-- A Place To Rest. Here she shares her caregiving journal, as well as her poetry which you can at several other sites including The Poetry of Carolyn Haynali at the PASSAGE site.
Alzheimer's Outreach was created by Marsha Penington, aka Taylor Austin. It is such a wonderful, amazing page, literally packed full of helpful information, as well as being a place where caregivers have shared many beautiful stories and poems.
Laura Smith is founder of the CWPML (Coping with Personal Memory Loss) support group/mailing list, and this early-onset Alzheimer's patient has a very wonderful and amazing home page as well, where she keeps an almost daily journal and shares poetry and photos.
Through the Eyes of A Son is the poetry of Jerry Ham at Alzheimer's Outreach, and some of his poems included in Alzheimer's Poetry here at this site, and regularly on the Alzheimer list where he has been called "Poet Laurete" for that discussion list/support group. Jerry has also recently had a book of his poetry published: This Stranger in Our House.
Doug's Reaching Out, his beautiful writings at Alzheimer's Outreach, his poems here in Alzheimer's Poetry, and those he contributes regularly on the PASSAGE list touch us all, and his love for his wife, Ann, a late-stage Alzheimer's patient, is an inspiration to us.
Viola's home page is a site filled with poetry and inspiration, including some about her aunt who had Alzheimer's, and is is shared across the Web and touches us on the PASSAGE list as well.
Alzwell was created by Susan, and she also founded The Caregiver's Ring. Her Anger Wall at Alzwell has helped many of us express our feelings and cope both with caregiving and life after caregiving.
